Like most people in America and most other places, we decorate a christmastree for christmas, nothing weird about that. The weird part for you Yanks is, that instead of borring little lamps, we actually put real candles on the tree... We not only put them on, but we light them as well... This is a very pretty sight, and funny enough, no houses have burned down yet...
Another tradition note:
Like you Yanks have the picles traditon, we instead eat a ricepudding desert. In that desert an almond is hidden, whoever gets the almond first, gets an extra present - obviesly!!!

I don't buy it. There has to be trees that catch on fire. The trees dead, it's drying out. It's gonna catch fire!!! Also, what's the picles tradition you mentioned? it's news to me. It's very pretty though, your trees I mean, if you like danger that is.
